This morning was one of the hardest runs I can remember. I was so tired because I did not get much sleep last night. My husband was flying to Norway and I always have a problem sleeping until I know he has made it safe. I got up this morning despite wanting to crawl back into bed and completed my 4 mile run. It was NOT fun. My knee was killing me the entire time. I slowed my pace down to an easy jog and I still could not take a step without sharp pain throughout my knee. Todays mission was simply to cover the distance, I did not care how long it took me to do it - JUST DO NOT STOP RUNNING! That was my moto!
I finished with an 11:21 avg pace which is my slowest 4 mile run to date, but at least I got out there and did it! After my run I took my dog for a 1 mile walk, came home and stretched and of course iced! I am going to head out for another walk later today as well as tonight to insure I complete all my scheduled miles for the week.
I will post the rest of the results from the day later on, as of this morning this is what I have done....
Goals achieved for the day -
1. Use my foam roller 3 times - 2 times so far
2. Ice 2 times a day - DONE!
3. Yoga for at least 30 mins -
4. Drink 1 gallon - almost done
5. Complete scheduled run - DONE!
6. Log foods each day - not yet
7. Take all vitamins/supplements - DONE!

Mile 1 - 11:25

Has your knee been bothering you for a while? Have you had it looked at? I am struggling with knee pain as well, and it is more nagging than ever.
Do something else but give that knee a break otherwise you could be off for months and then??????
Hope your knee feels better! Have you tried that tape thing that has medicine or something in it? I got samples at the half-marathon expo and it seems to help!
Hope your hubby arrived safely!
You probably are already doing this, but you might add an exercise to strengthen the knee and surrounding muscles. Sure hope it gets better!
Hi Jen! Take care of that knee! You know, have you tried some deep water running?? :) That may take the pressure off for a bit.
Jenn, I would probably have the knee checked out. I'm sorry you're in so much pain! Let me know if you need the name of a good Orthopedic in our neck of the woods.
Girl, where you been?? I miss you! Is your knee better?
P.S. Are you on facebook? I am. Look me up if you are!
Trust me you don't want to do something that would cause you knee problems the rest of your life. It's not worth it. Your determination and dedication is an inspiration. Just be careful.
